THAYA grape juice has become a Regional food
In the South Moravian Region, the Regional Food Label for Thaya grape juice was officially awarded. Nine local producers received the Regional Food of the South Moravian Region label from the hands of Václav Říha, Director of the Regional Department of the Agricultural Inspection Fund (SZIF), Miroslav Skřivánek, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Jan Grolich, Governor of the South Moravian Region, and Jan Doležal, President of the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic, at an award ceremony during the Food Festival in Veselí nad Moravou.
The competition takes place in all regions of the Czech Republic except Prague. Producers of agricultural and food products with no more than 250 employees can compete for the Regional Food Label. The winning product then receives the right to use the Regional Food label free of charge for four years. This year’s edition confirmed the growing interest in this prestigious award among local producers of quality and tasty products. A record 456 producers from all over the Czech Republic entered their products in the 14th year of the Regional Food Competition.
Regional Food is a project of the Ministry of Agriculture. The State Agricultural Intervention Fund administers the label. One of the most visible marketing tools is the promotion of the brand in the media. For example, in the programmes Boys in Action, Baking on Sunday and Herbář. You can regularly see the Regional Food brand in magazines such as Apetit, Gurmet, Forbes and at important events such as the Harvest Festival at Letná, the vintage festival at Prague Castle and Země živitelka.
