We are honored to announce that we are the winner of the 13th Winery of the Year 2022 competition in the category of medium-sized wineries.
On 26 January 2023, the Winery of the Year Award Ceremony took place on the stage of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium under the moderator Mark Eben. This announcement was preceded by a three-stage evaluation process, where first a combination of the JUNIOR and SENIOR jury’s judgement got the winery to the final and then the expert jury, during a personal visit to the premises of all the finalists, decided which one best fulfils the set criteria, and especially fulfils the main idea of the competition, i.e. to exceed the common practice in the field in the long term and to move it ever forward.

The competition is announced and the title “Winery of the Year” is awarded by the Union of Winegrowers of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the National Wine Centre, with significant support from the Wine Fund of the Czech Republic and the South Moravian Region. The event is organized under the auspices of the Governor Mgr. Jan Grolich and JUDr. Markéta Vaňková, Mayor of the Statutory City of Brno.
THAYA winery won in the category of medium wineries. The prize was accepted on the podium by the owner of the company, Mr. Ing. Josef Trávníček together with Jakub Smrčka, who incidentally became the Enologist of the Year for 2021. This is a great success for our winery, because in 2022 we expanded the THAYA complex with a beautiful hotel and restaurant, where top gastronomy is cooked.

We thank all our employees for their hard work and our clients for their support.
